Herbal Lore detects and identifies alchemical substances and allows their removal from food or drink. It is required to learn Alchemy.
Requirements
Prerequisite: Read and Write.
Effects
Identification: Role-play examination for at least three seconds to detect whether an alchemical substance is present and identify it.
Removal from Food or Drink: After identifying a substance, spend one full minute role-playing its removal from the food or drink. Removal destroys the substance rather than recovering it for reuse.
Limits: Herbal Lore cannot identify blood types, detect poison in a creature's bloodstream, or extract information from blood samples.
Related Racial Ability
Detect Poison / Antidote: A character with the racial skill Detect Poison / Antidote, associated with Survivor, can detect poisons as though they had Herbal Lore, whether or not its daily antidote use has been spent. Herbal Lore remains the listed prerequisite for purchasing Alchemy.
